Detroit Red Wings vs. NY Rangers Live Stream: Watch Online Streaming NHL Game

Nov 05, 2014 07:50 PM EST

The Detroit Red Wings and NY Rangers are playing live on the NHL schedule on Wednesday night and the game is from Madison Square Garden and will be on TV from MSG on the NBC Sports Network at 8 pm ET and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website as NYR hosts the Original Six matchup after a tough loss and Henrik Lundqvist will try and hold things down in New York.

The Rangers have been off to an up and down start this season and they have 12 points with five wins so far with four losses and they are fourth in their division. The Red Wings come in with 15 points and this is a big matchup for both sides. The Rangers come in after an overtime loss against the St. Louis Blues and they will matchup on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs in another Original Six matchup on Saturday night.

The Rangers have not been terrible to start, but they have not done anything particularly well and they currently are dealing with a number of injuries. The team is without captain Ryan McDonagh and that is tough and they come in ranked 16th in goals per game and 20th in goals against. Rick Nash has been off to a hot start and the team hopes he can keep that up, as he signed as a prime goal scorer and has not been that for the Rangers so far in his contract.

The Rangers lost in a shootout to the Blues and while they were able to get a point there, the team needs more. The team also got a point in the game against the Jets, but that 1-0 shootout loss was another tough game and now they need everyone to step up. Dan Girardi has been playing a ton of minutes and the Rangers are hoping that some of their bench players step up against the Red Wings on Wednesday night.

The Red Wings come into the game after a loss against the Senators and they will next play against the Devils on Friday and that will be a home matchup from Joe Louis Arena. The team comes in ranked in the top 10 in goals against as well as penalty kill percentage this season and they are looking to win after losing to Ottawa. The Wings come in at 6-3-3 on the year and they are currently fourth in the Atlantic division standings.

The Red Wings have had a strong start from Henrik Zetterberg, who leads the team in points and assists, while Nash has been tops for the Rangers. Nash has nine goals and 12 assists this season and has been the most consistent offensive player.
