Nov 05, 2014 06:43 PM EST

The Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday and the matchup is from the Time Warner Cable Arena starting up at 7 pm ET as Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Luol Deng take on Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson in this Southeast division matchup in the eastern conference for Michael Jordan's team.

Miami comes into the game after a loss against the Houston Rockets and that was the first defeat of the season for the team. Miami is now 3-1 and the Hornets come in at 1-3 and Miami will play against the Minnesota Timberwolves after this matchup and that will be a home game. Many wondered how Miami would fare after LeBron left, but so far the results have been solid and adding Deng to the mix was huge to help replace James, who is basically impossible to replace.

Miami comes in ranked sixth in the NBA in scoring through the first couple weeks of the season and the team got a nice game from Chris Bosh the last time out. Bosh looks to be back to his old ways now that James is gone and he had 21 points and eight rebounds, while Shabazz Napier was tops with eight assists. Napier is a solid player and he came over in a draft trade and could be a key reserve for the team this season. The Rockets went to 5-0 in the game against the Heat and Miami had come in at 3-0 and now they will try and bounce back.

Bosh is averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds early in the season and he could be a sleeper MVP candidate this year. Miami has started off as the best team in the southwest and they will have the Hornets and the Wizards to deal with. Miami swept the former Bobcats last year in the playoffs and now Charlotte comes in with a new name and a new look. The team is playing against Atlanta after this matchup with Miami and they are coming in after a loss against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Lance Stephenson was the big signing for Michael Jordan this offseason and he joins Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson, who signed last year and was very good for the franchise. The team comes in ranked fifth in the league in points allowed per game thus far and that has been a major improvement from last season. Gary Neal led the way in the last game, while Stephenson had seven rebounds and he could be a key player for the team this year and could help the Hornets get into the playoffs in back to back seasons, even though this new franchise iteration has not won a game in the postseason (as the Bobcats).
