The New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons are playing on the NBA schedule on Wednesday and the game is live from the Palace of Auburn Hills starting up at 7:30 pm ET on TV from Fox Sports Detroit and online from the NBA.com League Pass as Carmelo Anthony and co take on Andre Drummond and it comes after NY lost to the Wizards at MSG on Tuesday and this is a back to back for the club.

The Knicks have been up and down to start the season and they come in after a tough loss to the Wizards. The team has a matchup with the Brooklyn Nets on Friday and this game is an important one, as the Pistons do not have a win yet. The Knicks are 2-2 on the season and they have won over the Cavaliers and the Hornets, but have lost to the Bulls and the Wizards. The Wiz shut down the triangle and kept Carmelo to just 18 points and now the Knicks will look to bounce back.

JR Smith comes in after getting a one game suspension for his antics and he had four assists in the last game, while Amar'e had 12 rebounds and Iman Shumpert led the team with 19 points. The Knicks come in ranked 29th in the league in scoring right now and they are 10th in defense by points allowed per game and they need to get the scoring back up. The team is expected to have some growing pains with the triangle offense, but they need to be more efficient. The Knicks come in at eighth in assist per game, but the rebounding is ranked 28th in the league.

The Pistons come into the matchup at fifth in the central division and they are 0-3 on the season and last lost to the Brooklyn Nets. The team had nine assists from Brandon Jennings along with 18 points and Greg Monroe led the way with 11 rebounds. The team plays the Bucks next and they come in ranked 30th in the league in points per game. The team is in the top 10 in rebounds per game with Andre Drummond and Monroe, while they are ninth in defense on points allowed.

The Knicks schedule coming up has some winnable games and they are already going better than last season when they started off 3-13 on the year and that led to the team missing the playoffs. The team has the Nets after the Pistons and then they have a home and home with the Hawks. The Knicks play four straight games at the Garden and Melo said the team needs to play better at home. The team got their first MSG win against the Hornets, but that was a close game. The matchup with the Cavaliers was big, but the team needs to play like that on a more consistent basis.
