Chelsea News and Rumors: John Terry Expected To Stay Says Jose Mourinho As Champions League Second Leg Against PSG At Stamford Bridge Tuesday

Chelsea had a short stay at the top of the English Premier League this weekend and they are now chasing Liverpool heading into next week and as that happens, manager Jose Mourinho spoke about the performance of John Terry and that he expects the captain to stay with the Blues next year.

The Blues rebounded from a loss against Crystal Palace with a 3-0 victory against Stoke City and they have been very impressive at Stamford Bridge and they are now heading into their second leg match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Mourinho spoke about Terry after the match this weekend and said that he expects the captain to stay after his contract is up in June and ESPN.com reported that Terry was offered a one-year extension already, but the two sides are working on more money than was originally offered.

The 33-year-old has been having a very solid season for Chelsea and they come into this week at second on the league table after Liverpool won on Sunday. The Reds have a two point lead over the Blues after the weekend and Manchester City is third on the league table heading into the back stretch and they are ahead of Arsenal and Everton, while Manchester United is now in sixth place over Tottenham. Chelsea lost away to Crystal Palace and then against PSG and that was a 3-1 loss and now the Blues will try to recover from that and Frank Lampard thinks that the team still can pull it off, as the second leg will be Stamford Bridge, where the team is undefeated in EPL play. They also have a huge match against Liverpool at Anfield in a couple weeks that could help decide the league table.

"The only idea I have is that the manager wants him to stay but the contracts are between the player and the club," he told the media. "I never have any involvement in this. They will find the right moment. The club knows I want him to stay. The club wants him to stay, he wants to stay, so normally he is staying."
