Tim Tebow remains an NFL free agent and while that doesn't appear to be changing soon, teams like the Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills and Tampa bay Buccaneers could be options for the QB despite his TV and heading into the college football season, SI.com writes that Trevor Knight, the Oklahoma quarterback, could be the next "Tim Tebow", as he brings talent and his Christian faith into 2014.

Tebow has been a free agent since before last regular season and that came after his release from the New England Patriots following training camp and the preseason. Tebow did not get much playing time in the preseason, but he worked out a great deal with Tom Brady in camp and then played against the NY Giants and while he had a touchdown in that game, he never really had a chance with the Pats, as they have not held onto three quarterbacks in a number of years. The team was content with Ryan Mallett as the backup for Brady last season and head coach Bill Belichick has too high of a premium on roster spots that he had no choice but to let Tebow go.

The Patriots looked like a logical option to bring in Tebow at the time because of how Belichick thinks and this came after the NY Jets released him at the worst possible time for his career. The Jets, after trading for Tebow for seemingly no reason decided to barley use him all year, then criticize him, then act like they were going to release him, then kept him through the draft, allowed other teams to sign free agent QBs and then they finally cut him with little fanfare one morning after the draft. Great way to treat a dude as a franchise. Everyone knows the Jets are a mess and the way they handed Tebow showed exactly why.

Most teams had already signed players and had started working out their backup situations, which left Tebow twisting in the wind until the Patriots called. Tebow signed with the team in June and while he didn't make it on the roster, it was a good experience working with Brady. Tebow now obviously has a job with ESPN on TV, but he has said that he is continuing to work out and that he is hoping to get another opportunity in the NFL. The closest that Tebow came last season was with the St. Louis Rams, as they spoke internally about him after Sam Bradford blew out his knee, but it never became anything more than that.

Tebow is not going to get signed this summer most likely and that's too bad, as he has a resume that beats out a number of other players in the league. Tebow has been compared to a number of players in college and at SI.com, Thayer Evans and Pete Thamel wrote that Trevor Knight could be the next "Tebow" in a way this season, as he has talent, Christian faith that he makes known to people and he is a "winner". The article writes about his faith and also how he helped Oklahoma win against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl after passing for 348 yards and four touchdowns.
