The Sunday night football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins did not have any bearing on the AFC, but the Monday night football matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers will, as Andrew Luck's team is in first place in the AFC South and this game comes before a much anticipated matchup against Peyton Manning and the now 6-0 Denver Broncos.

The New England Patriots pulled off a dramatic last second victory against the New Orleans Saints and that enabled them to extend their AFC East lead to improve to 5-1. The New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills both lost on Sunday and the Miami Dolphins were on a bye with a 3-2 record, while NY is 3-3 and the Bills are 2-4 in Doug Marrone's first season. The Pats are now 3-0 at home and they are the only team without a loss within the division apart from Miami, who has not played an AFC East game.

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in overtime and are now the lone leader of the AFC North with a 4-2 record over the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns at 3-3 after each of those teams lost on Sunday. The Steelers got their first win of the season against the Jets and the Bengals are 1-1 within the division. The Bengals are 3-0 at home and they are now up on the Ravens and Browns.

The Colts are playing on Monday night football and are leading the AFC South over the Tennessee Titans, who are 3-3 this season. The Houston Texans appear to be imploding and are now 2-4, while the Jacksonville Jaguars hung around a bit against the Denver Broncos before losing to fall to 0-6. The Colts are 2-0 this season in the division, while the Jaguars are 0-4 on the road and 0-1 in the division.

The Denver Broncos won their sixth straight game, but they can't even think about taking their foot off the gas, as they are tied for first place in the AFC West with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are 6-0 on the season as well. The team is 4-0 at home this season and 1-0 in the division, while the Chiefs are 3-0 on the road and 3-0 at home and 1-0 in the division. The Chargers are playing on MNF and are 2-3 on the season, just ahead of the Raiders at 2-4.
