The Thursday night football matchups in 2013 have been big business for the NFL Network and the channel is expecting another high number for Week 6 as the New York Giants travel to play the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in a matchup of two teams desperate for a win after losses last weekend.

The Chicago Bears have a new head coach and new look on offense and after opening the season 3-0, the team has now lost their last two games while giving up over 60 points and while they are facing an 0-5 Giants team, New York can still have a high powered offense and they will need to be on the lookout. The Bears have played well this season on defense, but the unit is ranked 24th in passing yards allowed per game and it could be the right time for Eli Manning to break out of his slump.

The draft pick of Kyle Long has turned out to be a great choice and Marc Trestman has done a fantastic job of turning around the offensive line, giving Jay Cutler way more time to throw than he had last season, which is one reason why his stats have been good this season, including him ranking fifth in the league in touchdowns with 10. Cutler has passed for 1,368 yards this season and has looked very comfortable in the pocket and they will try and rebound against a Giants team that has allowed 30 points in every game this season.

The Bears opened up the season with three straight wins and two close games over the Bengals and the Vikings and then they blew out the winless Steelers on Sunday night football and then they hit their slide. The division loss against the Lions is tough, but it was on the road and they will get another chance at them, while the loss to the New Orleans Saints was also tough, as the team is now 5-0 this season and looking like a Super Bowl contender.

The Bears have a tough second half schedule and it starts after the team travels next week to play on the road against the Washington Redskins. The Bears have a bye in Week 8 before playing on the road on Monday night football against the Green Bay Packers and that is the first of two MNF games in the second half, as they also will play the Dallas Cowboys later in the season. The Bears then will play at home against the Lions and the Ravens before hitting the road again for four of five games.

Cutler and company will travel to the St. Louis Rams and the Minnesota Vikings before coming back home against the Cowboys for MNF and then they have two more road games against the Browns and the Eagles before finishing the year against the Green Bay Packers. Cutler has passed for over 1,300 yards this season with 10 touchdowns and Alshon Jeffery has been a huge player for him, leading the team over Brandon Marshall with 429 yards on the season. Jeffery has 28 catches and two touchdowns while Brandon Marshall has 378 yards and 31 catches this season and three scores.

The Giants have a tough second half schedule as well and they now will play the Eagles before getting a bye and later on in the year they have a tough stretch against the Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Chargers and Seahawks. The team will play the Chicago Bears on Thursday night football on the NFL Network at 8:25 PM.
