The New England Patriots have LeGarrette Blount dealing with an injury and he could be out for the team in Week 15 after leaving the game against the Texans on Sunday night. Rob Gronkowski was able to return from a knee injury, while Julian Edelman was able to work out in practice and there is a chance he could return for the regular season, but the playoffs are more likely.

Per ESPN: UPDATE: Blount could be out for the season with the injury.

Blount had to leave the game with a hip injury for the Patriots and according to ESPN, Blount was using crutches on Tuesday at the team facility. Blount was able to walk off the field following the injury, but the crutches on Tuesday are not a good sign for his status coming into Week 15. Brandon Bolden and James White likely would pick up the slack if Blount has to miss time with the injury. The Patriots have now wrapped up the AFC East title with the Dolphins losing to the Giants, so if Blount misses time with the injury it isn't the end of the world for the team.

UPDATE: The Patriots have added Montee Ball to the practcie squad. He could be an option if activated. Check here for more.

The Patriots have suffered a number of injuries on the offensive side of the ball this season, with Dion Lewis, Edelman, Danny Amendola, Brandon LaFell and Rob Gronkowski all missing time at various points in the year. Blount now could join that list and if that happens, expect the team to shift around the game plan against the Titans in Week 15. Tom Brady has put up great numbers this season and getting Gronkowski back healthy after a one game absence was big for the team.

Edelman has been out for the Patriots after undergoing foot surgery, but he was able to return to the practice field last week, according to the Boston Herald. Edelman was not expected to be back in action for a while and the Patriots initially expected him to be out until the playoffs. That timetable is still likely, but there is a chance that Edelman could return for the end of the season if the Patriots want to get him some reps to get his timing back once he heals up.

The Patriots are in position for a first round bye in the AFC and that would give Edelman even more time to get back to 100 percent if he is not ready to return during the regular season. Edelman had been the top target at wide receiver for Brady this season, putting up 61 catches for 692 yards and seven touchdowns before getting injured. Edelman is not expected to play in Week 15 and while there is a chance that he could come back for the regular season, the Patriots will likely want to be cautious to ensure he is healthy for the playoffs.
