The MLB postseason standings in the NLCS has the NY Mets up 2-0 after winning over the Chicago Cubs on Sunday night. The Kansas City Royals are going for 3-0 against the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS in Game 3, but Toronto can cut it to 2-1 with a victory on Tuesday.

The Mets have been able to take a 2-0 lead off of strong pitching in the first two games and now the series will shift to Wrigley Field for Game 3 on Tuesday. The Mets won the first game with Matt Harvey on the mound and Noah Syndergaard was strong on Sunday to get the 4-1 win against Jake Arrieta. Jeurys Familia recorded the save and now the Mets will turn to arguably their best starter with Jacob deGrom getting the nod in Game 3.

Daniel Murphy has been on fire for the Mets and he hit a home run for the fourth straight game in Game 2 to help give New York the victory. Arietta has been one of the best pitchers in baseball since the All-Star break and the Mets tagged him in the game and now the team is in position to take a commanding lead in the NLCS. Curtis Granderson made a great play in the outfield to help rob the Cubs of a home run and that was a huge blow for Chicago.

Granderson also got things done with his bat and scored two runs in the game and now the Mets have their best pitcher taking the hill. The Mets have won over Arietta, Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw this postseason and those three pitchers could be the top three in the NL Cy Young voting this season. The schedule at Wrigley Field has three games if necessary and the Mets will pitch Steven Matz in Game 4 and will use Harvey again in Game 5 if that game is needed. deGrom will go up against Kyle Hendricks in Game 3 and the Cubs are looking to get a win to stay alive (going down 3-0 with their history will be tough) against the top pitcher for the Mets.

The Blue Jays and the Royals will play Game 3 of their series on Monday night and the matchup has Johnny Cueto going up against Marcus Stroman for the pitching duel. The Royals went up 2-0 in the series after a comeback performance against David Price in Game 2 and now the team is in position to go up 3-0 on the Jays in Toronto. The Jays came back from a 2-0 series deficit against the Texas Rangers and the Royals have rallied enough times the past two years to know that the Blue Jays are far from being done in this series.
