The Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Thursday night and the game is on TNT from the Moda Center as the western conference teams matchup and things start at 10:30 pm ET as the Mavs head to Oregon and it has Dirk Nowitzki and LaMarcus Aldridge facing off in the matchup.
The Blazers come into the game after a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers and they are 2-2 this season and that is good for first in the northwest for the time being. The Mavs are 3-1 this season and they will next play against the Jazz after the matchup with the Blazers. Portland had a great run in the playoffs last season and they won over the Houston Rockets and made it into the second round and now they are looking for more this season.
Damian Lillard led the team with 27 points and seven assists against the Cavaliers and they come in at fifth in the league in rebounds per game. The team is ranked third in defense by points per game to start the season and if they can keep that up they should be in string shape in the western conference. The Oklahoma City Thunder will take a hit after the injuries to Kevin Durant and Russell westbrook and a team like the Blazers could take advantage.
The Mavericks come in after a close win over the Dallas Mavericks and they will next play against the Utah Jazz on the schedule. Chandler Parsons led the team with 29 points in the win over the Celtics and he has helped the team to start off ranked first in the NBA in points per game. The team is 27th in defense and sixth in assists per game and the Mavs have high hopes for Parsons and the team this season.
