NY Knicks Rumors: Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire Not Enough In Detroit Pistons Loss As Triangle Offense Needs Work

Nov 06, 2014 04:03 PM EST

The NY Knicks dropped another game to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night and while Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert played well, it wasn't enough to come back after being down 17 points and after the game Derek Fisher stressed that the triangle offense still needs time to get working on a consistent basis for Melo and company.

The Knicks fell to the Pistons and now the team is 2-3 on the season and that is good for third in the Atlantic division. The team plays against the Nets next and that will be on the road in Brooklyn at the Barclays and then the team has the Atlanta Hawks after that. The Knicks got 20 points from Tim Hardaway in the game against the Pistons and both Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e played well, but there wasn't enough from everyone else on the roster.

Stoudemire had 15 points and eight rebounds and the Knicks were not strong enough to stop Greg Monroe, who had a huge game with 23 points, 18 rebounds and three assists. Jason Smith played well and scored 17 points, while Iman Shumpert had 15 and Anthony had 13 points on a tough shooting night, going 5-for-21 from the field. The Knicks know they need to play better and that is on the offensive side of the ball and they currently are ranked 29th in the league in points per game. The team is 13th in points allowed and eighth in assists per game and they are also 24th in rebounds per game.

The Knicks have now lost two in a row after winning two in a row and those wins were against the Cavaliers and the Hornets. The team now has the Nets and then the Falcons in a home and home before playing four straight at MSG. The team hosts the Hawks and then has the Magic, Jazz and Denver Nuggets at the Garden and those could end up as wins and at least a couple of them should. After that the team travels to play the Bucks and Wolves before a home game with the Sixers.
