The Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night as they open the season and the western conference teams face off at the Moda Center at 10:30 pm ET and the TV coverage is from ESPN and it will be streaming live on the WatchESPN website as Russell Westbrook and Damian Lillard battle.
Oklahoma City comes in without Kevin Durant and he will be out for quite a bit and now the team has the Trail Blazers to start the season with the Clippers coming next. The Thunder won 59 games last season and they went 11-5 in the division and this will start the season and Durant could be out for a couple months, leaving things in the hands of Russell Westbrook. The Thunder are still going to be one of the favorites in the west, but they may have to do it from a different seed than last season.
Durant comes into the season after winning MVP and he averaged 32 points per game last season, while Westbrook was tops in assists and now he will have to be the main offensive threat for the Thunder. The Blazers come in after winning 54 games last season and making the playoffs and they will start against the Thunder at home before a road matchup with the Sacramento Kings.
LaMarcus Aldridge comes into the season after averaging over 23 points and 11 rebounds last year and he has turned into one of the best players in the NBA. Damian Lillard is a superstar in the making and the Blazers could be a surprise team in the west this season.
