Victor Cruz #80 of the New York Giants is carted off the field after attempting a catch in the end zone during the third quarter of a football game at Lincoln Financial Field on October 12, 2014 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The eagles defeated the Giants 27-0."

The NY Giants suffered a huge loss against the Eagles on top of losing the game on Sunday night, as wide receiver Victor Cruz is out for the season after an injury to his knee and now fantasy football owners will need to look to Odell Beckham, Rueben Randle, Preston Parker and Corey Washington as replacement pickups on the free agent market at WR.

Cruz suffered the injury while trying to make a catch against the Eagles in the third quarter and it came as the Giants were driving for a touchdown. The team was down by 20 points at the time and had put together a solid drive and now Cruz will be out for the season, which is a huge loss for the Giants. According to Pro Football Talk, the Giants confirmed that Cruz suffered a torn patellar tendon against the Eagles and now he will be out until at least the 2015 season. Cruz was carted off the field in obvious pain and was visibly shaken after the injury and he will be very hard to replace for the Giants.

Cruz and the new offense with Eli Manning had looked great in the past three weeks and coming into the Eagles game many thought the team would have a chance to upset the division leaders. Now the Cowboys and the Eagles are both 5-1 and the Giants are 3-3 coming off of a shutout having lost their best offensive player with Dallas next on the schedule. Cruz had 21 catches for 321 yards and one touchdown in five games this season and he had just two catches for 16 yards when he was injured in the game.

Cruz was injured right at the end of the last season and finished with 73 catches for 998 yards and four touchdowns and he was off to a solid start this season after some early struggles. The last two games before not great, but in Weeks 3 and 4 Cruz had 11 catches for over 200 yards and his only touchdown of the season. The Giants just got Odell Beckham back from a hamstring injury last week and it couldn't have come at a better time, as now Randle and Beckham will have to step into the top two WR roles.

Randle has been solid this year with 23 catches in five games for 189 yards and now he will be elevated to the top position and he has the chance to step up for Eli Manning. Randle sometimes has issues with drops and last week he caught only four of his team high 10 targets against the Falcons before playing against the Eagles. Beckham has the chance to be a strong number two option after making four catches in his debut with a TD and he was on the field for over 50 percent of the snaps for the Giants.
