The World Cup 2014 Brazil bracket is nearing the knockout round schedule and the draw results for the last 16 teams has Brazil, Mexico, the Netherlands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Belgium into the round of 16 and there are more teams that can advance over the next couple days before the United States plays Germany in Group G.

Group A has Mexico and Brazil into the next round after winning on Monday and they are into the knockout stage over Croatia and Cameroon, who finished with three losses in the tournament. Brazil led the group with seven goals to four for the Mexican side and they both advanced after winning two games and drawing once. Group B had the defending champions in Spain, but they are eliminated, while the Netherlands and Chile are the teams through after getting nine and six points respectively.

Colombia has already punched a ticket in Group C, while Ivory Coast looks like the next team in since they have three points and both Japan and Greece have one apiece. Colombia won each of their first two games on the schedule and in Group D Costa Rica has done the same. Costa Rica is one of the surprise teams of the tournament and they are leading with six points, while Italy is second along with Uruguay, while England is eliminated.

Group E and Group G do not have any teams into the knockout stage yet, with France leading Ecuador and Switzerland, while Group F has Argentina leading with six points. Group G has the United States and Germany tied with four points and the US would be in had it not been for an amazing play from Ronaldo and now they will be playing against each other while Portugal matches up with Ghana. Group H has Belgium into the knockout round, while Algeria is in second with three points and five goals.

The United States had the chance to make it into the knockout stages, but they blew it with second left and now they have to make sure they get at least a point from the game against Germany or they will not make it. Ghana and Portugal could play to a draw and get the US in, while Germany will be looking to advance as well and they are one of the favorites in the tournament.

Brazil, Argentina, Germany, the Netherlands and France all are considered favorites in the tournament and they will be looking to get things going into the knockout stage. The World Cup 2014 tournament in Brazil has the schedule moving through the group match stages and into the knockout round and the group games will finish up this week before the knockout round starts on Saturday.
