The College World Series 2014 is back live on ESPN on Friday and the Texas Longhorns and the Vanderbilt Commodores are playing in a potential elimination game at 3 pm ET and the game is live streaming from WatchESPN and comes from TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha for the CWS Final Four and these two teams have played well in the tournament and want to get to the championship baseball series.
Vanderbilt comes in as one of the favored teams, while Texas has a long and successful history at the College World Series and they got some demons out after last year by winning and getting through to this game. The Longhorns have played some tight and exciting matchups and teams like UC Irvine and others are now out and there are just the last four teams left and obviously one will be the champions of the College World Series in Omaha.
Vandy was able to get past UC Irvine before pushing them into the bracket to play things out and that got the team to the semis and they got Walker Buehler to pitch a great game in relief to get things going and now they are into the next spot after going 48-19. The team had to wait to see who would win the matchup between Texas and the Anteaters and now they are ready to take the field and get things done.
Texas made it through after beating Louisville and that sent the Cardinals back and kept their two year streak going and now they are 0-4 in the CWS. Texas had some things to exercise as well and the win was snapping a streak that went back to 2009 in Omaha and now they have found their way through after winning against the Cardinals and the Anteaters. Virginia and Mississippi are playing in a matchup on Friday and that also could be an elimination game. Ole Miss is through after Will Allen had a great game for the team and they won over TCU and now have the chance to try and beat the Cavaliers. Virginia has played well and they won an epic 15 inning game and now they will try and keep that momentum going.
Vandy comes into things after winning over Stanford earlier in the super-regionals and in those matchups Louisville also advanced while Texas won over Houston in two games and UC Irvine did the same against Oklahoma State, one of the higher ranked teams in the tournament. Ole Miss and Virginia advanced in and Mississippi was matched up with TCU and won and now they have a game against the Cavaliers and that could be a very good matchup. The bracket now has a matchup with Ole Miss and Virginia coming, while Texas advanced and now they matchup with Vandy and this is to see who will get into the final matchups. The tournament started with 64 teams and now they are down to four and teams like OK State and Oregon State were beat and the Anteaters made a run after being one of the last in and now it's down to four left.
