UC Irvine infielder Taylor Sparks hits a triple in the eighth inning as the Anteaters won 3-1 against Texas Longhorns to continue and play in the College World Series and now the team is playing against Vanderbilt in Omaha, Nebraska on June 16, 2014 at TD Ameritrade Park."

The NCAA College World Series 2014 baseball tournament is live on ESPN with Vanderbilt and Texas playing against each other and the game has live stream coverage at 3 pm ET from ESPN2 and the WatchESPN website from Omaha as the CWS continues and it comes after Louisville and Texas played earlier in the day at TD Ameritrade Park and now the Longhorns are through and comes before Ole Miss and Virginia.

UC Irvine was able to win against Texas and they rallied on Saturday and won the game and Taylor Sparks led the way for the team, hitting himself another triple and that helped to propel the team to a win. The team needed a spark from Sparks after getting shutout for most of the game and his triple brought in three runs and that gave the team the win and they were able to beat up on starter Nathan Thornhill and now the team is in position to keep going after being one of the last teams to even make it into the tournament.

UC came into the tournament as underdogs and they were able to beat out Oregon State in Corvallis as a number one national seed and they also swept out Oklahoma State in the super regional and now it seems like the team cannot be stopped. The team now is in the winners' game and they matchup with Vandy and this should be a tough test. The team now has the chance to keep things going and this game will be tough, but the team has had long odds this whole time and while they stranded players on base early in the game, they did not give up.

UC Irvine starter Andrew Morales was drafted by the Cardinals and he pitched well while giving up just one run and he held back Texas enough to get the team into the late stages of the game with a chance to win. Texas is one of the most experienced teams in the tournament and they had chances to bring in more runs to take more than a one run lead, but the Anteaters kept them at bay and then took advantage when they got the chance.

The College World Series is one of the best postseason tournaments in the United States and after starting off with 64 teams and schools like Oregon State and Florida, now only a handful of teams are left and some could be playing their last game. UC Irvine and Vandy play after the Texas and Louisville matchup and on Tuesday there will be more games with Texas Tech and Miss playing each other, while TCU and Virginia will be the late game on the schedule. The game for US and Vandy is double elimination since both come in with wins and that makes this matchup even more important and the Louisville Texas game was an elimination game after they opened with losses.

Vanderbilt is a strong team as well and they now have advanced and the Commodores were able to score runs on a wild pitch and a passed ball and that gave the team enough to win. Vandy now has the chance to play UC and that should be a great matchup and it will be live from ESPN.
