NBA Playoffs Standings 2014: San Antonio Spurs Advance To Face Miami Heat In Finals Rematch After Thunder Win

The San Antonio Spurs are into the NBA finals and they advanced against the Oklahoma City Thunder and now will have a rematch with LeBron James for the championship and it starts on Thursday as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Boris Diaw, Serge Ibaka, Manu Ginobili, Serge Ibaka and Tim Duncan all had solid performances.

The Thunder had a two point deficit and they were able to tie the game with Russell Westbrook making two free throws and that gave the Spurs the chance to win the game at the end and he couldn't and the game went to overtime. Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant helped cut the lead to just two with four minutes left after a brilliant pass from Reggie Jackson and that helped get the team back after being down by 10 coming into the final frame. Diaw had a very good game for the Spurs and he had over 20 points coming towards the finals minutes of the game, while Duncan had over 10 rebounds and Ginobili stepped up with Tony Parker out.

The Thunder came into the game down 3-2 in the series and they had no choice but to try and win to force a Game 7. Kevin Durant had 25 points going into the final minutes of the fourth quarter and the Spurs dominated the third quarter over the Thunder to pull the team back and Westbrook had a fantastic game as well. Durant was leading the team with over 10 rebounds and he was all over the floor as the Thunder attempted to stave off elimination for one more game.

Most of the games in the series were blowouts heading into this matchup and the Spurs won the first two games big before the Thunder bounced back. Durant won the MVP award this year and he had a solid series and now he was the one to lead his team in Game 6. The Thunder came in after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies in a seven game series and they last played against the Heat two years ago in the finals. Last season the Spurs and the Heat went seven games and Miami won that matchup and now LeBron and company are looking for their third straight championship.

James and the Miami Heat completely dominated the Indiana Pacers in game six and now they are into their fourth straight NBA finals and they are looking to win a third straight title. The team took away home court advantage from the Pacers and now they are into the finals and should be the favorites to win the NBA championship after doing it last season. Durant ended up with over 30 points in the game and he had a double-double and the Thunder got blown out in the third quarter before storming back in the fourth and the tie between the two teams at 95-95 was the first time the game was tied in the fourth quarter all series.
