NBA Finals Schedule 2014: Miami Heat Play San Antonio Spurs For Championship TV Starts Thursday

May 31, 2014 09:52 PM EDT

The NBA Finals schedule for 2014 starts for the Miami Heat on Thursday and they will play the San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder as LeBron James marches for a third straight championship and they will play a team they have defeated for a title and they became the first team in over two decades to make it to four consecutive finals series and now they will face the Miami Heat, with the Spurs advancing to the NBA finals.

The Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers in dominating fashion and now they have ended Indy's season three years in a row and that team could look different next season. Miami was dominant in Game 6 and they won the series 4-2 after a fantastic performance from LeBron James and that followed a playoffs worst performance in the previous game. James played only 24 minutes and had seven points in the Game 5 loss and that was mainly due to terrible referee calls and he came back hard in the next games.

James was fantastic and battled hard at Lance Stephenson and he ended up with 25 points and Chris Bosh had the same, while Paul George led the Pacers with 29 after having just one point in the first half. The Pacers had home court advantage this year and it didn't even matter, as the Heat won in six games and this comes after the team won over the Pacers last season in seven games and they won that last matchup in Miami. This time the Pacers had home court and couldn't take advantage and now the future of the team as it's composed it up in the air.

James had a fantastic season and he led the Heat in scoring, rebounds and assists and now Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and James are coming into the finals looking to three-peat. The team matched the Celtics and the Lakers from the 1980's for going to four straight championships and now Pat Riley is looking for another three peat as well.

The schedule has Game 1 on Thursday June 5 and that will have Miami heading out west and they will play Game 2 on June 8. The next game will be in Miami on June 10 and the Game 4 matchup will be on June 12 before the series moves back to the western conference on June 15. The final two games if necessary are on June 17 in Miami and then on June 20 out west and that is the latest the series can go.
