The Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake are playing on the MLS schedule on Saturday and the game starts up at 4 pm ET from CenturyLink Field in Washington as the Major League Soccer season continues before the World Cup and the team will be without Clint Dempsey as they play the matchup and the Sounders come in after a nice away draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Dempsey is the leading scorer with Obafemi Martins and those two are also tops in assists and the sounders come in playing well and before the game against the Caps the team won against the San Jose Earthquakes. Seattle has a tough schedule coming up and they will play three straight home games after matching up in this game and they have Chicago, BC United and then a return trip to play Vancouver before coming home for two more games against rivals in the Portland Timbers and the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The team is without Dempsey and many of the top players are playing in the World Cup and Dempsey is huge for the United State team, while Landon Donovan was left off the roster in a controversial move from Jurgen Klinsmann. The US has a huge task in Brazil and they have the toughest group, as they will be playing in Group G with Germany, Portugal and Ghana in the group of death. The US is facing Cristiano Ronaldo, Klinsmann's old German side and the team that eliminated them from the World Cup the past two years and the should make it very tough to get out of the group round.
Real Salt Lake comes in after a draw against FC Dallas and before that they won against Colorado and they will matchup against the Crew after playing the Sounders, while Portland is next on the schedule. New England is in first place in the MLS in the eastern conference and they are up there with Kansas city and DC United atop the standings over Houston, Columbus and the New York Red Bulls. Real Salt Lake comes into the day second behind the Sounders in the west standings and that makes this a tough matchup and they are ahead of Colorado, Dallas and the Vancouver Whitecaps.
