NBA Playoffs Standings: Miami Heat Win Over Pacers and Advance To Finals

May 30, 2014 11:10 PM EDT

The Miami Heat are into the NBA finals for the fourth straight season after the Game 6 win over the Indiana Pacers by the score of 117-89 and now they look for a three peat championship and now Indy has lost 4-2 in the series as LeBron James and the Big 3 march to another title and they will face off against the San Antonio Spurs or the Oklahoma City Thunder for the championship.

The Miami Heat have defeated the Indiana Pacers in each of the past three seasons and the past two in the eastern conference finals and now the season is over for Indy after they came in as the top seed in the east. The Pacers fell apart through the playoffs and now Miami is into the championship and it comes after a very strong game from LeBron James after he was limited to seven points and he was phenomenal all game and now they are into the finals.

James had 25 points, four rebounds and six assists along with one block and steal and now he has the chance to add another title. Paul George rebounded from a tough first half and he led the way with nearly 30 points late into the fourth quarter and he also had eight rebounds and two assists. The Heat dominated in the first half and they outscored the Pacers 36-21 in the second quarter and continued to dominate and they had a 40 point lead at one stage of the game.

Chris Andersen had 10 rebounds and did a good job down low on Roy Hibbert and now the Pacers head into the offseason with a number of big questions. The team could move some players like David West or even Hibbert after he disappeared for stretches, while Frank Vogel could get fired for all anyone knows. The Pacers played for the number one seed while Miami played for the championship, resting Dwyane Wade and allowing him to miss 30 games to ensure that he was healthy this season. The Pacers got that number one seed, but now it means nothing and they are home for the offseason and hell, even Greg Oden got in on the action with some minutes at the end of the game.

Miami made it into the finals after winning against the Bobcats in four games and they won in five against the Brooklyn Nets and now they are through after winning in six games over the Pacers. This is the first time in over 25 years that a team has gone to four straight finals and they match the Lakers and Celtics marks from the 80s.
