May 25, 2014 01:54 PM EDT

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox are finishing a four game series on Sunday at US Cellular Field and it comes after NY made a comeback win on Sunday and the matchup starts at 2:10 pm ET with Masahiro Tanaka taking on Andre Rienzo and the two are 10-1 combined on the season and looking to continue their pitching dominance on the MLB schedule this weekend.

The Yankees have been up and down over their week in Chicago, splitting with the Cubs and losing the first two games to the White Sox before winning on Saturday. The Yankees lost on Friday night in grand fashion, as they lost in the ninth inning after making a comeback, with David Robertson giving up the game winning home run to Adam Dunn. The Yankees are looking to salvage the series with the White Sox and having Tanaka on the mound will help, even if he did lose his first start in two years with a game against the Cubs.

Tanaka has been fantastic this season and he is 6-1 on the year in his first stint in the majors and he is looking to bounce back and be the ace for the Yankees, as CC Sabathia, Ivan Nova and Michael Pineda are all missing from the rotation. Rienzo is 4-0 on the season and his ERA is at 4.00 and now he will face off against a 25-23 Yankees team and after getting a comeback win on Saturday, NY has some momentum behind them. Tanaka lost 6-1 to the Chicago Cubs and that was the first team to see him twice in the majors and it also was his first loss in over 40 starts since coming over from Japan and going 24-0 last season.

The White Sox bullpen has been a mess of late and they gave up a home run to Jacoby Ellsbury in the game on Saturday to blow things in the 10th and now he is back in the swing of things after going through a rough slump. Brian McCann has been coming around and the Yankees feel like they are starting to click overall despite the numerous injuries in the pitching rotation. The Yankees come into the game ranked in the top 10 in batting average this season at number eight and they are 12th in the league in runs scored and 15th in on base percentage as well as 12th in slugging and after playing against the White Sox they will continue on their road trip and play next against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.

The pitching has been up and down and the team is 20th in ERA and 21st in quality starts and they are 22nd in BAA and looking to keep things back on track while waiting for the pitchers to come back. The White Sox next play against the Cleveland Indians in a division matchup and they come in hitting the ball well, ranked in the top 10 in runs at third in the league, sixth in batting average and seventh in slugging percentage and a loss on Sunday will split the series with the Yankees.
