The Philadelphia Eagles gave away DeSean Jackson this offseason and the team is hoping Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff can replace the departed wide receiver and that is why Chip Kelly made a trade to move up for Matthews and that should give Nick Foles another solid option as he develops into a top of the line player.

Kelly loves to target players and bring them in and he did just that with Matthews, who put up some great numbers at Vanderbilt despite the fact that he was their best player. The team is bringing back Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper after letting Jackson and Jason Avant go and Kelly is hoping that Matthews and Huff can make up for it. The team added Darren Sproles in a trade this offseason and the draft has added more offense to the unit that ranked number one in the league last season.

Matthews has size at 6-foot-3, 212-pounds and he put up numbers at Vandy with 112 catches for 1,477 yards and seven touchdowns and that came with him as their only major wide receiver. Jackson's production of over 80 catches for 1,300 yards will be missed but the combo of Matthews and Huff could be enough to make up for it. Last season Huff had 62 catches for 1140 yards and 12 touchdowns and after playing at Oregon, Kelly knows exactly what he is getting from Huff.

The team ranked in the top 10 in both passing and rushing yards per game last season and adding someone like Matthews will only help the offense. Kelly is looking to continue speeding things up and after ranking last in the league in passing yards per game allowed Kelly will also try and get the defense right this year.
