The LA Angels and New York Yankees are playing in NY on the MLB schedule and the game starts up at 1:05 pm ET at Yankee Stadium and the TV coverage will be from Fox Sports 1 and it will have Vidal Nuno on the mound with Ivan Nova out of the rotation and it comes after Hiroki Kuroda got shelled in the game on Friday against Los Angeles.
Nova injured his elbow and now will have Tommy John surgery and that means he will be out for the season and Nuno comes in following Kuroda, who was shelled and gave up eight runs, including a home run to Albert Pujols and the team is playing well and they are 11-11 on the year. Pujols has been off to a great start and he has three home runs in the last three games and the Yankees will try to bounce back after losing on Friday night in the Bronx. The team comes into the game after losing to CJ Wilson and they are ranked ninth in the MLB in runs scored this season and they have been playing well and they are first in the AL East right now and they are also ranked sixth in batting average, ninth in on base and seventh in slugging percentage and the pitching has been up and down and now Nuno will need to take charge for Nova.
The team is ranked 23rd in ERA this year and 14th in quality starts and the team is also 15th in WHIP and 18th in BAA. The Angels are first in the MLB in home runs this season and they are third in runs and they are also 13th in batting average and they are also second in slugging percentage and the Yankees will have to try and shut the lineup down with Nuno making just his fifth start in his career.
