The Chicago Blackhawks won against the St. Louis Blues in overtime in Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead in the western conference first round series and the OT victory is the third win in a row and now they can advance to the next round with a win in the next game at home and the winning goal came from Jonathan Toews after Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane scored.

The NHL playoffs standings have three series tied up at 2-2 in the east and west first round, as the Chicago Blackhawks won in OT against the St. Louis Blues to tie things up after losing the first two games, while the Ducks and Stars along with the Penguins and Blue Jackets are also knotted up at 2-2 and that Pittsburgh Columbus series is looking to be fantastic, as every game has ended 4-3, including Game 4 in overtime.

The Blackhawks are the defending Stanley Cup champions and Patrick Kane was the hero in that matchup, as he had three points in the game with two goals and one assist, including the winner in overtime. Kane needed a breakout and the team also got goals from Brian Bickell and Andrew Shaw, while Corey Crawford had 30 saves in the game. Ryan Miller has been excellent for the Blues and he had 30 saves in the game as well on Wednesday night and now things are tied up again at 2-2 as things move back to St. Louis.

The Blues and the Blackhawks have battled all season in the central division and now they have three games to decide what will happen in the series and whether there will be a repeat champion in the NHL this year. The teams scored two goals each in the second period and then one each in the third before the Blackhawks ended it and now they have some momentum going into Game 5 and that usually is the most important game when these things are all tied up.

The Penguins and the Blue Jackets have been playing some amazing hockey and once again, the game saw a comeback, as the Pens took a 3-1 lead early and then had to hold on, as Columbus tied things up to force yet another overtime game and then they won it in the extra period and now the series is at 2-2 heading into Game 5. Sergei Bobrovsky has 22 saves in the game, while Marc Andre-Fleury had to work, going for over 40 saves in the matchup and now Sidney Crosby and company will be looking to win the next game for a 3-2 lead.

The Stars and Ducks are now even at 2-2 as well after Dallas was able to win in Game 4 and now that series will head back to California. Jamie Benn scored a goal for the Stars and they had the advantage in the game and added two in the second and two in the third after the Ducks took the early 2-0 lead in the first period.
