The New England Patriots are one of the Super Bowl favorites in the AFC this season and with a possible matchup with Peyton Manning looming, the team is ready to play the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night and the divisional playoffs round matchup starts on CBS starting up at 8:15 pm and could be one of the best games of the weekend and it will be live from Gillette Stadium.
Tom Brady is looking to get back to the Super Bowl after losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs last season and to the Giants in the Super Bowl the season before that and he will have to go through the new comeback kid in Andrew Luck and the Colts. Lock led his team to a nearly 30-point comeback against the Chiefs over Wild Card weekend and now the team hits the road and will play against tom Brady in the night game and that comes after the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks play on Saturday afternoon in CenturyLink Field.
Those two teams are facing off again after meeting earlier in the season and that goes for many of the playoffs matchups, including the Broncos-Chargers and Panthers-Niners, but not the Colts and Pats. The Patriots come into the game after having a bye week as the second seed in the AFC and despite losing Rob Gronkowski during the season, Brady and head coach Bill Belichick are confident about their chances. The Colts pulled off an amazing comeback over the Chiefs last week, but now they will have to go on the road in a hostile place outdoors and this time it will be Brady facing off against Luck and not Alex Smith.
The Patriots entered the playoffs after losing just once over the last six games and they nearly won that game against the Dolphins and they have momentum coming in against the Colts despite having the week off. The team has lost to the Carolina Panthers on the other side of the playoffs bracket already this season and they have defeated the Denver Broncos and those are the only two teams still left alive that the Pats have played this year.
