Arsenal is currently sitting atop the English Premier League table by a point over Manchester City, but with the way the EPL is going this season, there is a good chance they will need to keep playing at a very consistent level to stay there and that is why both Theo Walcott and Arsene Wenger have said to reporters that they wouldn't mind having some extra firepower heading into 2014 and the January transfer window and some possible names include Jay Rodriguez from Southampton, Dimitar Berbatov from Fulham and Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Arsenal comes in with 45 points on the season and the Gunners have a couple injuries to deal with, including to Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner and with the emergence of Walcott, who has been scoring in bunches, the club could add some players through the window. According to ESPN.com, Walcott said that the "boss" is looking to add players to the lineup during the window and a striker could be in line for the Gunners and that would be a big boost as they come into a tough part of the EPL schedule.

Arsenal comes into the 2014 part of the schedule at the top of the table, but the five teams at the front have all been fluctuating this year and both Tottenham and Manchester United are lurking as well. This weekend saw all the top teams win and now the Gunners have off until the January schedule picks up next week in the EPL, but they will have a matchup against Tottenham in the FA Cup and that match is on Saturday. Giroud could be back for that match and that could mean he returns when the team plays their next Premier League match and this could be the difference between a league title and a top five finish.

"The boss has already said that he is looking for special players and we have got a lot of special players in that dressing room [already]," Walcott said.
