The English Premier League schedule on Sunday has Chelsea and Liverpool as the top match and the Reds and Blues will face off at Stamford Bridge starting up on the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the Live Extra website at 11 am ET and that match could shake up the top of the standings, as Arsenal and Manchester City are in the top two spots heading into the day.
Chelsea comes into the match after a win over Swansea City and that came after a scoreless draw for the Gunners on Monday before Boxing Day and now the Blues will be looking for a big performance against the Reds, who has Luis Suarez playing some great football this season and he is leading the league in scoring in goals and he could have another nice performance on Sunday. Eden Hazard scored the lone goal for Chelsea against Swansea on Boxing Day, while Liverpool fell to Manchester City to fall off the top spot in the EPL and the club got one goal from Philippe Coutinho.
Arsenal came into the day with the chance to get back up and they defeated Newcastle in the early game and they came into the day after winning against West Ham on Boxing Day and they got two goals from Theo Walcott and he has been playing very well this season for the Gunners. Arsenal now is at the top of the league table heading into the new year in 2014 and it has been six years since they have been in the top position heading into January and they have the chance to push their lead even more as the next set of matches come up and now the Gunners won the first match at St. James Park for Newcastle and the other match on Sunday later in the day is Tottenham and Stoke City from White Hart Lane.
Liverpool had been scoring in bunches before getting beat at Manchester City last week, winning 3-1 against Cardiff City and 5-0 against Tottenham in the match that got Andre Villas-Boas sacked and before that they won 4-1 over West Ham and 5-1 over Norwich City and Suarez had been fantastic during that time, scoring multiple goals in matches twice and now the club will need a big game from him on Sunday. Arsenal has 22 points on the road now and Suarez comes in after scoring two goals against Cardiff City and the other goal in that match was from Raheem Sterling and Liverpool moves down on the table for the time being and they are in fifth for the moment and they have the chance to get back into it and Suarez faces the team that he got banned last year against and the match on Sunday could be the best on the schedule.
