UEFA Champions League Results: Group Table Winners Advance To Last 16 Knockout Round

The UEFA Champions League group phase has ended and now the table results have the last 16 teams into the knockout round and some of the group winners includes Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona, while clubs like Manchester City, Schalke, Arsenal, AC Milan and Bayern Leverkusen are through as runners up.

The Champions League draw for the last 16 round will be coming on Monday and the matchups are much anticipated, as teams are hoping to avoid a group of death after making it out of the first set of 32 teams. There was some controversy surrounding some matches, including with Juventus and Galatasaray, as the Italian club was left out after losing 1-0, but they complained about the conditions after a tough snow storm and they have some beef as they will remain home for the next round of the UCL. Overall, a number of top clubs made the cut for the next round and it came after some exciting matches on Tuesday and Wednesday and the draw will be released on Monday as the group winners will be draw from one pot and the runner up teams from another.

The group winners and runner up results heading into the next round are Manchester United winning Group A over Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid coming out on top of Group B over Galatasaray, Paris Saint-Germain taking Group C on top of Olympiakos, Bayern Munich in Group D over Manchester City and that came after a huge win from Man U against Bayern, while Chelsea comes in over Schalke in Group E. Borussia Dortmund ended up on top of Arsenal and Napoli in Group F, while Atletico Madrid beat out Zenit St Petersburg in Group G and in Group F it was Barcelona on top of AC Milan.

Overall Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid finished with the most points in play on the Champions League table with 16 each and both Manchester City and Bayern Munich finished with 15 points each. Manchester United finished off play with a 1-0 win over Shakhtar with a goal from Phil Jones on Tuesday, while Real Madrid had a nice win over Copenhagen with goals from stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric to keep their record looking clean and Paris Saint-
Germain finished with a loss, but they made it through as winners in Group C anyway.

Olympiakos got in after a nice win over Anderlecht with goals from Javier Saviola, while Manchester City had a massive victory against Bayern in Group D away with three straight goals that got started up from David Silva. The Wednesday matches were interesting as well with Chelsea winning 1-0 and Galatasaray taking down Juventus in controversial fashion based on the pitch conditions. Arsenal fell 2-0 to Napoli to finish as the runners up in their group, while Atletico Madrid finished an impressive run with a 2-0 win over Porto.
