The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are coming into their matchup with Pittsburgh on a nice winning streak since falling to Oklahoma back in September and the team is ranked 23rd in the nation and visits the Panthers at Heinz Field starting up at 8 PM on ABC and streaming online Saturday night.
The team is 7-2 on the season and are winners of four in a row and the team has scored over 35 points in each of the past two games and they escaped a close win over Navy and are coming off wins over Air Force and USC and the team also defeated Arizona State by three and that came after the Oklahoma loss. The team opened with a win and a loss to Michigan and then won two straight before the loss to the Sooners and now the team has the chance to get into better BCS position with a strong finish and they have the chance against number five Stanford at the end of the season and that could be the chance for the Irish to play spoiler one year after making it to the national championship game and the team also has a home game left against BYU before playing on the road against the Cardinal.

The team had to deal with an injury to Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees and now they will face off for two road games in three matchups with the Pitt and Stanford matchups and that comes after they had just one real toad game in the past five games and now the team has a tough matchup even with Pitt being just 2-3 in the ACC. The Irish come in with nearly 250 passing yards per game to rank 56th in passing yards and the team is also ranked 88th in yards per game in the nation on the ground with 149 rushing yards per contest and they are scoring nearly 30 points per game this season while allowing just over 20 points per game.
The team gave up a tno of yards against Navy and now the Irish are 7-2 and looking to keep things going, while the Panthers have lost two straight games against Navy and Georgia Tech and now they have Notre Dame before playing against North Carolina and then Syracuse and they will finish off the season against Miami with the Hurricanes coming to town and they are ranked as well. Pitt comes in with three losses in four games and before that the team was 3-1 after opening the season with a loss to Florida State and while that loss was bad, it looks a bit better now that the team is in position to make it to the national championship game and the team also suffered a loss to Virginia Tech after snapping their three game winning streak which had wins over Duke, Virginia as well as New Mexico.
Pitt comes into the matchup ranked 70th in the nation in passing yards per game with over 220 and the team is ranked 104th in rushing yards with over 120 on the ground per game and the team has been scoring over 24 points per game and are allowing nearly 30. The team is scoring in bunches when it gets rolling, but that hasn't happened in a while and now the team has scored 31 combined points over the past two weeks and they will have to play better against the Irish for the chance against Notre Dame. The team will look for a close matchup, which is the way things have been and Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees could be a factor.
