St. Louis Cardinals Schedule: World Series Game 2 Time and Channel for Fall Classic Meeting

Oct 24, 2013 11:01 AM EDT

The St. Louis Cardinals are playing catch up after losing their first Game 1 of the 2013 MLB Playoffs. Here is a look at their World Series schedule as they get ready to face the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 of the 2013 Fall Classic.

The Cardinals could not get easy outs, though they had plenty of chances to avoid big innings in Game 1 on Wednesday night. If they do not win on Thursday night, the series could wrap up in Busch Stadium as things will move to St. Louis over the weekend.

Some fans might want to tune into Game 2. Michael Wacha, the Cardinals' sensation takes the mound on Thursday evening and he will do his best to get the Cardinals on the win column, like he has done in all his starts in the 2013 Playoffs. Wacha has never trailed in a game during the MLB Postseason and he has pitched in very tight games. He allowed one run against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Game 4 of the NLDS, shutout the Los Angeles Dodgers in Games 2 & 6.

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET

TV Channel: FOX

The Cardinals almost took the shutout in Game 1, but Matt Holliday provided some pop, hitting his third home run of the 2013 postseason. He sent a monster shot to left-center over the Green Monster. It will be huge for the Cardinals to get Holliday swinging the bat for power as Carlos Beltran might find himself on the bench as he recovers from a bruised rib injury.

Though there were small triumphs and highlights in Game 1 for the Cardinals, Beltran made an amazing grab. Beltran accomplished what Torii Hunter could not; steal a grand slam from David Ortiz. Beltran caught the ball, but missed the padding as MLB's Harold Reynolds explained. Beltran ran right between a crease in the padding, banging his ribs directly into the wall.

Wacha will have to pitch sensational baseball if the Cardinals cannot produce runs. The Red Sox will send John Lackey to the mound in Game 2.
