The Anaheim Ducks have gotten off to another very solid start this season after winning seven of their first eight games and the team will face off against the team that former head coach Randy Carlyle now is with, in the Toronto Maple Leafs in a game that will be at the Air Canada Centre at 7 pm.

The Ducks already have 14 points this season and have been one of the most consistent teams in all of the NHL, ranking in the top 10 in both scoring and goals against this season. The Ducks are right near the top of the Pacific division and they are chasing the San Jose Sharks, who have won eight of their first eight games without any losses and one OTL loss and they are in first place with 17 points, just ahead of the 8-0 Ducks. The Los Angeles Kings are right behind after winning six and losing four games and they have 12 points to sit tied with the Phoenix Coyotes. At the bottom of the division is Vancouver with five wins and one OTL and 11 points, while Calgary and Edmonton are currently the low men with 10 and five points.

The Maple Leafs come into the season after breaking their playoff drought streak last season and they currently are second place in the new Atlantic division, chasing the Detroit Red Wings, who are now in the East and has six wins and 13 points on the season, while the Leafs have six wins as well but no OTL giving them 12 for the year and one behind the leaders. The new division puts half the east here and the rest in the Metro division, which added the Blue Jackets as a new team in the conference to help with travel.

The Maple Leafs are just ahead of Boston in the standings and they are the team that they allowed to come back in Game 7 in the third period after having a multiple goal lead. The team is ahead of the rival Canadiens as well, as Montreal is tied with Tampa Bay with 10 points, while behind them are the Senators and after that are the Florida Panthers and the Buffalo Sabres.

After playing the Ducks, the Maple Leafs will go against the Blue Jackets and then they play against the Penguins and Oilers before playing against the Flames and then they are on the road against the Canucks. The Ducks have eight straight road games on an Eastern trip including next against the Canadiens after playing the Leafs and then they have the Senators, Blue Jackets as well as the Flyers and then the Bruins before playing against the Sabres and the last game on the trip is another matchup with the Rangers, who they previously beat 6-0 at home.
