The NFL season is off to a big start and now that Week 1 is officially in the books, here is a look at some scores and observations for some of the games across the league and a look ahead to Week 2.

The Denver Broncos started off the season with a huge 49-27 victory over the defending Super Bowl champions that saw seven touchdowns from Peyton Manning, while Wes Welker, Julius Thomas and Demaryius Thomas all had two touchdown catches each. The team looked great and now they will head into the Week 2 matchup against the Giants in high spirits, while the Giants are down after losing and turning over the ball six times against the Cowboys.

The Patriots defeated the Bills 23-21 on a last second field goal and Tom Brady showed that he can work with any weapons, as Danny Amendola came in and did his best Wes Welker impersonation while making 10 catches for over 100 yards. Shane Vereen made the most of Stevan Ridley getting benched and rushed for 100 yards to give EJ Manuel and Doug Marrone a loss in their NFL debuts. Brady had two scores and nearly 300 yards passing in the game.

The Bears came back to defeat the Bengals by scoring a touchdown in the fourth and holding Cincy to zero points and the team also got two touchdowns from Jay Cutler as well as a nice game from Brandon Marshall. The big WR had eight receptions and 104 yards and a touchdown, while Forte also scored a touchdown to give Marc Trestman a win in his debut.

The Dolphins pulled out a 23-10 win over the Browns that saw Mike Wallace have just one catch, but Brian Hartline and Ryan Tannehill looked good, as Hartline finished with nine catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. The team also saw Browns TE Jordan Cameron make nine catches for over 100 yards and a touchdown, while the running games for both teams were weak.

The Vikings lost to the Lions despite a nice game from Adrian Peterson and Reggie Bush had a huge game in his debut for Detroit, putting up a receiving touchdown and making four catches for 101 yards and also rushing for 90. The Raiders lost to the Colts 21-17 after an Andrew Luck score, while the Saints were able to win 23-17 against the Falcons at home to open the season after going 0-4 last year.
