The Washington Redskins started the season off with a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football to open the season and while Robert Griffin III made it through the game without injury, it wasn't without some issues.
According to Pro Football Talk, Griffin had to deal with covering up his knee brace in the game with his sock multiple times, as the league called down to the sidelines and told him that it needed to be covered up. This comes after Griffin was previously fined $10,000 for wearing an "Operation Patience" shirt in warm-ups during the preseason and now he possibly could face another fine from the uniform police.
The league likes keeping things standard when it comes to uniform rules and Griffin said that he was using the brace to keep his right knee stabilized and as it kept coming out he pulled his sock up over it. Griffin was a bit frustrated about the rules after the game, but he was more frustrated with the loss to the Eagles in the first game with head coach Chip Kelly.
Griffin had 329 yards passing and two touchdowns, but he also threw two picks and the Redskins weren't able to get back into the game until late after the Eagles took a 25 point lead. Kelly's team played fast on offense and ran a high number of plays and Michael Vick looked comfortable running things for the team.
The Redskins now have to prepare quickly after being 0-1, as the Green Bay Packers are next on the schedule for Griffin and company.
"Man, I don't know what the league's doing," Griffin said. "I got fined 10 grand for a shirt. I mean, I don't know."
