Michigan Wolverines Live Score vs. Central Mich: Big Ten College Football Online Updates

Aug 31, 2013 03:55 PM EDT

The Michigan Wolverines are coming into the NCAA college football season as the 17th ranked team in the nation and with quarterback Devin Gardner coming in as the starter after Denard Robinson went to the NFL, the team is ready to make a big run after opening with a loss to Alabama last season and this year they will play Central Michigan.

The Wolverines come into the year with Brady Hoke in his third season and after going undefeated at home over that time, the Wolverines are looking to get back into the elite ranks of college football. Last season the team lost in heartbreaking fashion to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Outback Bowl and now they will try and win the Big Ten again after falling out of the national spotlight under Rich Rodriguez. Jeremy Gallon will be the top option for Gardner and the team will open up against a Central Michigan team with big game experience.

The biggest issue for Michigan this season will be to replace the production of Robinson, who scored nearly 100 touchdowns during his time as a Wolverine and Gardner comes in with some starting experience, as he stepped in for Robinson over the final five games and threw 11 touchdowns. Gallon and Gardner connected last season and now he will be a primary threat on offense after making 31 catches for over 500 yards down the stretch last year during his starts. The team is 4-0 against Central Michigan and they are trying to keep that streak going and they haven't lost since 2010.

The Wolverines will play Notre Dame in a huge game next week and the will play home against Akron before going on the road against Conn and then they will be home for Minnesota. The team will next play Penn State on the road before Indiana and an away game at Michigan State before playing Nebraska. The team goes on the road for Northwestern and Iowa before cling against Ohio State in a game that could have national implications and in the Big Ten.
