Some of the other notable games during the day include Texas A&M playing against Rice and that of course will have the suspension of Johnny Manziel in the first half, while one of the top games of the week could be LSU and TCU, a top 25 matchup that features two very strong teams. Some other great matchups could be Northwestern and Cal and one of the best games will be the matchup for College GameDay with Clemson and Georgia.

The game is the only matchup between top 10 teams in the first week of play for college football and it features two of the top quarterbacks in the nation, Heisman candidates Aaron Murray and Tajh Boyd. The game could be very exciting and could have some big plays and some other top teams opening their seasons includes Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Virginia, Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan and many more. Alabama is opening with a tough game against Virginia Tech and this comes after the team opened up with Michigan last year and shows Nick Saban isn't afraid to be tough to start the year.

Alabama is going for an unprecedented fourth title in five years and their third straight championship game after defeating Notre Dame and they open the season with the Hokies at home on ESPN at 5:30 PM. The team has a bye the next week and then will play Johnny Manziel and the Aggies and then they have a game against Colorado State before playing Ole Miss and Georgia State before heading to Kentucky. The team will play Arkansas and Tennessee next and then will have LSU before finishing up with Miss State, Chattanooga and Auburn.
