Keith Olbermann Live Online: Watch ESPN Show Broadcast On ESPN2 At 11 PM

Aug 26, 2013 10:35 PM EDT

Some say you can't go home again, but apparently Keith Olbermann didn't get the message, as the controversial and highly intelligent host is set to return to ESPN after many years to host his own show titled "Olbermann" that will air at 11:00 on weeknights on ESPN2 and will start on Monday night with its debut show after the U.S. Open.

Olbermann's return to ESPN has been rumored for quite some time after the former "SportsCenter" anchor and network head John Skipper had lunch and then with the debut of Fox Sports 1 coming and dominating some conversation, the network announced in July that Olbermann would be back on the air. The show will air daily on weeknights as a late-night talk show about sports and other topics going on and will include a number of different segments, including panels, discussions, highlights of games, commentary pieces as well as interviews and entertaining pieces.

Olbermann is known for his sports intelligence as well as his brash comments and he isn't afraid to tackle big topics either after being on MSNBC for many years. Olbermann has previously worked for ESPN, Fox and NBC and he was with ESPN from 1992 to 1997 before splitting under some bad terms. Those bad terms were spelled out in "Those Guys Are Having All The Fun" and while it sounded like he burned bridges, clearly those were built up again and now he is back after over a decade and a half with a new daily show.

President John Skipper said that Olbermann was a unique personality on television and that he was glad to have him back and he also mentioned that Olbermann brings a new element to ESPN2, a network he was used to help launch the last time he was back with the company. The show will air against "SportsCenter" and also will be against the new "Fox Sports Live" on Fox Sports 1, the big new competitor to ESPN. Many felt that Skipper's move to hire Olbermann was a way to keep viewers excited about ESPN with the new network coming and so far the buzz appears to be working.

Olbermann will be airing live from New York during his show nightly and will include some of the elements he is best known for, including the now-titled "Worst Person in the Sports World." The show will not interfere with Olbermann hosting a postseason baseball show later in the year on TBS for the playoffs and his ESPN2 show will cover a broad range of topics nightly and will follow live events on occasion.
