Oakland Raiders Preseason Schedule: Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Friday At 10 PM TV Coverage, Start Time and Streaming Info With Saints, Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks Next

Aug 08, 2013 01:43 PM EDT

The Oakland Raiders have had one of the most interesting and active offseasons of any team in the NFL and as the preseason is set to begin Friday against the Dallas Cowboys, Dennis Allen and GM Reggie McKenzie will have the chance to look at what the team is made of heading into 2013.

The Raiders have dealt with a number of injuries of various degrees in camp, including to players like Menelik Watson, DJ Hayden, Latavius Murray, Tracy Porter, Mike Jenkins and Jacoby Ford, but the team expects all those players to be ready for the regular season and that none of the injuries are long-term. The Raiders went just 4-12 last year and now have a new quarterback in Matt Flynn after trading for him from the Seahawks.

The team has a new running scheme for Darren McFadden as he enters a contract year and Rashad Jennings and Murray will be in the fold as well to contribute. The team shipped out Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals and names like Tommy Kelly and Richard Seymour are also gone and the team has a number of new rookies looking to command playing time, including Watson, Hayden, Nick Kasa and Brice Butler as well as linebacker Sio Moore on defense. The team ranked eighth in passing last season and will need more consistency to keep that up.

The Raiders defense was ranked 20th and 18th in passing yards and rushing yards allowed per game and were 28th in the league in rushing yards gained per game while dealing with injuries. The team will open the preseason with a game against Dallas before travelling to play the Saints and then they will host the Chicago Bears before travelling to Seattle to play the Seahawks. The team opens the season on the road against the Colts before coming home to play the Jaguars and they also have a prime matchup against the Broncos on Monday night in week 3 and in week 4 they play host to the Washington Redskins and RG3. Games will stream on NFL.com.
