NY Knicks Rumors: Lamar Odom Free Agent Option As LA Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers Fit For Depth

The NBA offseason is starting to get into the latter stages and with only a handful of big names left on the market, one player that could make a big impact next season is Lamar Odom.

According to ESPN.com, there are a number of teams where the 34-year-old can fit in after a couple of rough seasons since his departure from Los Angeles with the Lakers, including those very Lakers, the Golden State Warriors, Clippers, Miami Heat and the New York Knicks. Each of those teams could use some depth in the front court and Odom could be the answer to play solid minutes and contribute.

The Warriors missed out on Dwight Howard and may want some size behind David Lee after he was injured and he can't play all the time anyway and along with Andrew Bogut the team would have a nice front court. Odom could play off Andre Iguodala and Stephen Curry and he could end up being a force down low for the team and he could try and chase a championship with an upstart playoff team. The Warriors upset the Nuggets last season and they have the look of an up and coming squad.

The Clippers are where Odom was playing and he averaged just 4.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, but with an offseason behind him, he could help back up Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan and with Byron Mullens and Ryan Hollins on the roster, the team could use some more depth. The Miami Heat are likely out after signing Greg Oden, but there is a chance they could jump in as well.

The NY Knicks are an interesting option also because Odom wouldn't have to play a ton of minutes and that could keep him fresh to the end of the season. The team needs more depth behind Tyson Chandler and others in the frontcourt and Odom could be an option for Mike Woodson. The Lakers can fit because of what they have as well and since Ryan Kelly is young, he could use a veteran with him on the roster to get into games. Odom previously has come close to signing with the Knicks and this time it could happen.
