Chelsea and Valencia are both dealing with possible high-profile moves during the transfer period this summer and after news came out that Roberto Soldado is moving to Tottenham on a deal that could be worth over £26 million, the team has set its sights on Fernando Torres.

According to Superdeporte, a Spanish newspaper, Torres is the primary target for the team to replace Soldado, as the move to Tottenham could happen soon for the 28-year-old and the club will try to sign him to make up for the loss. Torres previously signed with Chelsea back in 2011 for 50 million and while the report says they are unsure if Torres will want to go back to Spain again. On top of that rumors have come up that the club is going after Wayne Rooney, who has had issues with Manchester United and that could be a sign that Torres is on his way out.

Torres could leave after netting 22 times in 64 appearances and since coming over from Liverpool he has 34 goals in 134 games and now he could be heading to Valencia. Press Association Sport reports that Tottenham is close to the deal with Soldado and this links up with past reports when Andre Villas-Boas said that he was interested in the 28-year-old and now the club is set to add him before the start of the season and the release clause will cost 30 million. Last season Soldado scored 24 goals in La Liga play and the club is hoping he puts up those numbers again. Reports also came out that Spurs defender Bongani Khuma will be on a season-long loan to the Doncaster Rovers.

Chelsea's bid on Rooney could be coming sometime soon to Manchester United depending on what happens in the next week or so and the club reported that is made a previous bid for the star. Reports have come out on both sides about Rooney and while David Moyes said that he is not for sale, things could change depending on how high the bid is and what the deal could be and this comes after Rooney was reportedly angry about having to be a back-up this season.

"The agreement with Tottenham is total. A problem has arisen with the (player's) agents," Valencia president Amadeo Salvo added. "(If it is resolved) he will go."
