Everton chairman Bill Kenwright does not expect too many fresh faces to be brought in during the summer, while Leighton Baines is looking forward to playing under new manager Roberto Martinez.
The Toffees have been left behind in the recruiting race by neighbors Liverpool, who have already sealed deals for four players.
However, Kenwright is not too worried and expects new signings to come in once Martinez returns from holiday in the United States.
"There is no concern at all, not in the slightest," Kenwright said, speaking after the club's first Annual General Meeting in five years.
"He has been away and you will always find July 1 onwards - when the current contracts end - is when it will start.
"Liverpool have had a sale (Andy Carroll to West Ham) in the transfer market, have got some money in and are spending some money.
"We have two enquiries going on for two players and if he (Martinez) has any concern I haven't felt once ounce of it.
"He is back at the weekend raring to go."
Kenwright said Everton's priority in the summer would be to hold onto their big players, with the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Baines linked with moves away.
"He hasn't met the squad yet. It is difficult for me talking for Roberto but he thinks the squad is fantastic," Kenwright added.
"He wants to hold on to it but he also wants to bring in two or three players in the positions where we need them.
"The first step is to get the players back and get to know them and bring in two or three.
"His absolute passion is youth and he wants to get those players who are there or thereabouts in the under-21s moving forward to play for the first team."
While Baines might have been linked with a switch to Manchester United to join up with former manager David Moyes, the England international does not seem to have any plans of leaving Everton and cannot wait to see what Martinez has to offer.
"He was one of the first names linked with the job and the feeling straight away was he would be a great appointment," he said.
"He has a different style to what we have been used to but I think it is progressive and it will move us forward. It is also exciting for the players to be able to try that now.
"The style in general appeals to a lot of people. Wigan were a great side to watch, they just didn't win enough games.
"But the manager will be working with some better players here and he will be looking forward to that as well now, being able to put his plan out there.
"We have got good players at the club who could probably execute the style of play better than the players he's worked with before, without being disrespectful to them.
"He might have a little bit more confidence in the players. I am sure he had confidence in the players he had then, but here are some really top players he can look forward to working with.
"We have time to work on it, whether it is a different style of play or whether the formation changes. By the time we kick the first ball of the season, we will be well-versed on what he wants to do."
