Chelsea Transfer News: Van Ginkel, Mangala Quiet on Stamford Bridge Move

Chelsea targets Marco Van Ginkel and Eliaquim Mangala refused to be drawn into speculations linking them with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

Vitesse Arnhem playmaker Van Ginkel is thought to be closing in on a move to Chelsea, with several reports suggesting a deal had already been agreed.

When asked about a possible switch to the Blues this summer after the Netherlands' loss to Spain in the European U-21 Championships, Van Ginkel admitted his admiration for the English Premier League, but said right now his focus was on trying to win the European title for his country.

"The Premier League is a very good league, I think every young player wants to play there," Van Ginkel told Sky Sports News Radio.

"I know what people want to hear, but I'm not going to say anything about that now. I have to focus on this tournament. After that, I will think about my future -- not now."

Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars further fuelled reports of an impending move for Van Ginkel to Chelsea, by admitting the Dutch club had been priced out of signing the talented midfielder.

"Ajax were very interested in Van Ginkel and we were willing to go quite far," Overmars said. "But if we have to compete with one of the big clubs from England it is always going to be difficult for us.

"We cannot beat Chelsea's financial resources."

Meanwhile, Mangala, reportedly one of Jose Mourinho's primary defensive targets, said he is remaining "calm" about his future and was not too worried about various reports linking him with a move away.

"I not am preoccupied about my future," Mangala was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "There have been many rumors in the papers in the last few days, but I am very calm.

"My objective is to work each day and to progress in my club. I am only thinking about to follow up for Porto the next season.

"I was also very happy with my debut for France, my dream is to play in the World Cup 2014."
