Chelsea Transfer News: Draxler Admits Stamford Bridge Move Would Be a 'Dream', But Schalke Playmaker Will Not Come Cheap

Chelsea target Julian Draxler has claimed he would love a move to Stamford Bridge, but also mentioned Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona among the clubs he would be interested in.

Draxler is considered to be one of the brightest young talents in Germany and Schalke, aware of the growing interest across Europe, tied the 19-year-old to a new five-year deal last month.

However, Draxler admitted he will find it difficult to turn down a move to either of the two English Premier League giants or Real and Barcelona.

"Which boy doesn't dream about playing for Real, Barca, Chelsea or Manchester United? That's nothing to be ashamed of," he told Sport 1.

Chelsea have been on a recruiting spree when it has come to youngsters, and Jose Mourinho has reportedly targeted Draxler as a player who could add yet another dimension to an already strong attack.

However, the German international's agent Robert Wittmann revealed any interested club will have to trigger the player's release clause of €45.5 million (£38 million, $59.5 million).

"The player costs €45.5 million, and he has to agree," Wittmann is quoted as saying by the Bild. "These are the conditions of the transfer."

Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt said he had not received any calls from Chelsea as yet over Draxler.

"There has been no official transfer enquiry from Chelsea, and we are not in contact with them," he said.

"But, it must be noted, there will always be interest in players with the qualities Julian Draxler has."

Mourinho, after taking over, has been linked with several high-profile moves with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Xabi Alonso and Hulk in the Portuguese's radar.

While Draxler is, no doubt, incredibly talented, Chelsea already have a surplus of playmakers with the likes of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Marko Marin and Kevin De Bruyne in their squad, with another midfielder in Marco Van Ginkel reportedly closing in on a move as well.
