Oakland Raiders Rumors: Free Agent Matt McGloin Signed Along With Josh Cribbs, Does Quarterback Have Any Chance To Start Over Matt Flynn or Tyler Wilson?

The Oakland Raiders have had one of the most underrated offseasons in the NFL this past year and despite being just 4-12 last season, the team is ready to improve in 2013 in the AFC West after the draft and they added another piece to that puzzle with undrafted free agent quarterback Matt McGloin.

According to the Washington Post, the Raiders brought in McGloin being Matt Flynn, Tyler Wilson and Terrelle Pryor and while he likely won't get the chance to compete for the starting job, he could be a solid player for the practice squad and could help the depth in training camp and the preseason. The former Penn State star set numerous records while in school while throwing for 46 touchdowns over his time at school as well as season marks with 3,266 yards and 270 completions and 24 touchdowns.

The Raiders needed to release both Jerrell Harris and long snapper Nick Guess to fit him on the roster and now he has the chance to possibly sneak in as the third quarterback behind Pryor or Wilson. When the Raiders took Wilson many thought that he could have a chance to start, but after the team already traded for Flynn there is a good chance that he will be the starter in 2013. The Raiders just signed kick returner Josh Cribbs to a contract and he could help the return game greatly, as Jacoby Ford can now just focus on the offense.

The team made a number of solid moves this offseason, including adding Mike Jenkins and Tracy Porter as well as Nick roach and Kevin Burnett at linebacker. The team also drafted cornerback DJ Hayden and should have a much improved secondary.
