Cincinnati Bengals Free Agent Rumors: James Harrison Visits Team As Karlos Dansby Target At Linebacker With Jarvis Jones Draft Option?

The Cincinnati Bengals have been relatively quiet in free agency after making the playoffs over the past two seasons, but the team may not be done yet ahead of the NFL draft, as they are hosting free agent linebacker and former Steelers star James Harrison for a visit.

According to NFL.com, the team is bringing in Harrison for a visit weeks after he was released by the Steelers and the team may want to sign him after missing out on a trade with the Raiders for Rolando McClain, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Harrison is 34-years-old, but he still could provide some depth and veteran leadership on the team.

Harrison originally did not take a pay cut from Pittsburgh, which forced the Steelers to release him and despite some interest, the Ravens will not sign him since they picked up McClain and Elvis Dumervil. The Bengals are also looking at free agent Karlos Dansby, who had over 100 tackles for the Dolphins last season, as well as Akeem Jordan and possibly Brian Urlacher.

The team brought back middle linebacker Rey Maualuga and has linebacker Vontaze Burfict, but the team is looking for more depth on the unit. During his time with the Steelers Harrison was one of the best and most explosive linebackers in the NFL, but he has lost a step or two over the past few seasons.

The Bengals have made the playoffs two straight seasons and if they don't sign Harrison or Dansby, someone like Jarvis Jones could be an option in the draft if he slips in the first round.
