Tim Tebow Rumors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Trade Hot Option As Quarterback Works Out At Jesuit High School, Backup For Josh Freeman With Dan Orlovsky Release?

The Tim Tebow trade speculation took hold over the weekend as reports said that the Seattle Seahawks may have been interested in working out a deal for the quarterback, but after the team decided not to the New York Jets may have to look elsewhere and one place could be in Tebow's home state with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to NFL.com, the Buccaneers released backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky, leaving the team with a glaring hole at the position as they want to bring someone in to compete with Josh Freeman in training camp for next season. A very interesting possibility for the team could be with Tebow, as he was reportedly working out in the area at Jesuit High School and he would likely welcome a return to the sunshine state, where he had so much success in high school and college.

Tebow led his team to a state championship in high school before winning the Heisman Trophy and a BCS Championship at Florida and depending on how things go, he could be back in Florida once again. Many felt that after the season Tebow would return in a trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but after the team was not interested, the Jets started shopping him elsewhere. So far no team has been able to work out a deal with the Jets, but that could change with the Buccaneers.

The two teams were in discussions for Darrelle Revis, but so far that has broken down. As the draft gets closer, a deal could come together with both players or just Tebow and reports say that he will be with the Jets next week when offseason workouts begin. Tebow could be released by then, but there is a chance that a deal still could be worked out.

The fact that Tebow is in Tampa and that Orlovsky was released could be pure coincidence, but that would be no fun. The team wants a new backup for Josh Freeman and someone who could push him in training camp and Tebow would immediately put pressure on him to get better. The team could add a quarterback with the 13th overall pick in the draft, but chances are they will look in free agency or at a trade before that happened.

Orlovsky only played in one game last season and Tebow could have a much bigger impact on offense if Greg Schiano uses him in the right way. Tebow gained over 102 yards on the ground and 39 through the air while the Jets used him last season and despite the fact that he scored zero touchdowns, the Buccaneers could benefit from his addition.
