Fantasy Football Week 8 Advice: Giovani Bernard Starter Over Jeremy Hill? AJ Green Best Pick, Tyler Eifert Sleeper

The Cincinnati Bengals have the Steelers this week and fantasy football owners should look at both Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard as start options heading into Week 8. Both players have been productive and the Bengals offense has some solid names to use with AJ Green, Tyler Eifert and Marvin Jones for Andy Dalton.

Hill and Bernard have both been getting work this season and fantasy owners should be confident in starting both into Week 8. Hill is the starter and the featured back, but Bernard has put up solid numbers this season and at times he has been more effective than Hill. While Hill is the starter, Bernard is leading the team in rushing and is also a better receiver option out of the backfield. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said that Hill is the starter, but that he "doesn't play like I want him to play yet."

Hill had a breakout season last year with 1124 yards as a rookie, but this season he only has 232 yards and is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry. Hill has not had a 100 yard game this season, but he still has fantasy value as the goal line back. Hill has five touchdowns rushing the ball this season and six total scores and he will continue to get used in those redzone situations. Hill had his best game in Week 6 with 69 total yards against the Bills and the Bengals will try and get him going against the Steelers.

Giovani Bernard had 50 yards in his last game and he also added a touchdown against the Bills and he is worth starting even if Hill comes in for goal line situations. Bernard has added value as a receiver out of the backfield and that can help make an impact for fantasy owners in PPR leagues. Bernard is leading the Bengals with 427 rushing yards and he is averaging a healthy 5.5 yards per carry this year. Bernard had a solid season last year with 680 rushing yards and 43 catchers and he could eclipse both of those numbers this year.

Bernard has outplayed Hill over the last few games and fantasy owners should look at him as a solid RB2 or Flex option for this week against the Steelers. Tyler Eifert has had a strong season for the Bengals and he is a sleeper option against the Steelers, as they have been hit a bit by tight ends in recent weeks. Eifert made it into the endzone again last week and he now has six touchdowns on the season. Eifert is a solid TE1 starter with 28 catches for 342 yards this season and he is a good starter for this week.

Andy Dalton has put up some solid numbers this season and he is one of the top rated quarterbacks in the league. Dalton has 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions this season and he could be poised for a big game as the Bengals try and stay undefeated this week. Dalton is completing 67 percent of his passes and he has 1761 passing yards this season and is on pace for career numbers.
