After an embarrassing loss to Memphis, the Mississippi Rebels picked a good time to bounce back and have a strong showing against an SEC West opponent. With two losses under their belt, Ole Miss cannot afford another tumble as they prepare to face off against a struggling Auburn team that cannot seem to find their footing. In a road game the Rebels cannot overlook the Tigers.

Mississippi holds on to a No.19 ranking after they beat Texas A&M by shutting down the passing game of quarterback Kyle Allen. The Rebels held the dynamic Aggies to just 192 yards of offense while the team only managed a field goal. Defensively it was their best performance of the season and one they will need to repeat if they want to beat Auburn on Saturday. The more encouraging part of the game against the Aggies was that it came without Robert Nkemdiche and Tony Conner who were out with injuries. Both players are potentially going to return to play against the Tigers while CJ Johnson is also back and healthy.

The matchup against Auburn is a special one for receiver Laquon Treadwell. Last season, the wide receiver suffered a broken leg against the Tigers that ended his year early. After spending the rest of the year getting healthy, Treadwell is looking to have a big showing against the Tigers this time around. He is currently leading the SEC with 756 yards and five touchdowns while being the go-to endzone target. He could give the Tigers a headache all day as they have struggled on defense.

Auburn has been an interesting team this season. They have struggled to meet expectations placed on them at the start of the year. They are fresh off a dramatic loss to Arkansas that took four overtimes to determine a winner. The team managed to rally from a 14-point deficit, but Sean White and company were simply not enough. Ricardo Louis proved he could make the standout plays, but a dropped pass in the four overtime cost the Tigers the game. The Tigers will rely on Louis along with Peyton Barber who put up 120 yards and four touchdowns in the loss as they go up against a stout Ole Miss defense.
