New England NFL Weather Report: Patriots Will Play in Moist Conditions

Jan 13, 2013 12:26 PM EST

The New England Patriots host the Houston Texans in Foxborough Stadium at 4:30 p.m. ET. For fans going to the game or tailgating, check out the weather report as there might be rain in the forecast.

Ideally, it would have either been snowing or cold with the sun shining. However, today, there will be no sun as grey skies will continuously hover over Massachusetts.

Current conditions (as of 12 p.m. ET) have the thermometer reading 47 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind of seven miles per hour. The humidity is pretty high sitting at 91 percent.

Despite the heavy fog that was settling in the morning, there will be no precipitation, although, it imight as well be raining with the clouds hanging so low anyways.

By kickoff later today, the same conditions will exist. The temperatures are expected to hang around the mid-40's with winds between 5-10 MPH.

So fans, these conditions, though humidity is a pain in the butt, are unexpected and better than having to deal with the cold for three hours and a half.

Yesterday in Denver, the temperature was in the teens, but if felt like single digits due to the wind chill. The temperature dipped to 13 degrees Fahrenheit and it really felt like 3 degrees.

At one point, fans had to sit there and wait for the referees to deliberate a penalty and ball placement for about five minutes. They really looked like replacement refs and the fans let them have it as the jeered throughout their discussion.

Fans going to Foxborough Stadium will not have to worry about the cold, but if anything, grab your pancho or an umbrella, just in case it decides to pour later on in the game.
