The BCS college football schedule started up on New Year's Day with the Rose and Fiesta Bowl games and now the VIZIO BCS National Championship is on the horizon with Florida State and Auburn and the national title this season will be between the Tigers and the Seminoles and here is a look at the game with some predictions, projections picks and some preview stats for the BCS matchups.

Florida State comes into the game undefeated and will play against Auburn for the national championship and that game will come after the Rose Bowl is played earlier in Pasadena and the game will be on ESPN. Alabama had a clear shot to the national championship game before losing in the Iron Bowl to Auburn and now they will be matching up against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Nokia Sugar Bowl and that's a game that could be one of the most entertaining of the series of matchups. Ohio State was undefeated heading into the Big Ten championship game before losing to Michigan State and now the Buckeyes are matched up with Clemson in the Orange Bowl and that game is coming Friday night and is also on ESPN.

One of the best bowl games of the non-BCS matchups has two teams that were very close to making it into the final championship series, as the Cotton Bowl this year will have Oklahoma State taking on Missouri and that game will be on FOX and comes before the Orange Bowl on Friday. Oklahoma defeated Oklahoma State in the final matchup of the season to knock them out of BCS contention and that put the Sooners in the Sugar Bowl and sent Baylor into the Fiesta Bowl as Big 12 conference champions and now OSU will be looking to end the season on a positive note after that disappointing performance. Missouri comes in after losing to Auburn in the SEC championship game and they allowed over 300 yards to Tre Mason and that makes the matchup with the Cowboys even more interesting.

Alabama comes in as the favorite against Oklahoma and this is just the fifth time that the two classic schools have matched up and the Crimson Tide comes in at 11-1 and the Sooners are 10-2 on the season. The Rose Bowl had Michigan State and Stanford play, while the Fiesta has Baylor and UCF in a matchup of offensive teams. Florida State has their Heisman winning quarterback Jameis Winston and Auburn comes in with young star Nick Marshall at quarterback and Tre Mason will be a major focus for the Seminoles after he rushed for four TDs in the SEC championship game.

Predictions:

--Florida State wins over Auburn in a close game
--Alabama wins over Oklahoma
--Ohio State wins over Clemson
--Oklahoma State wins over Missouri
