The Rose Bowl is the first BCS college football game of the postseason and it has the Stanford Cardinal taking on the Michigan State Spartans in a classic Pac-12/Big Ten matchup and the game will have the parade in Pasadena for the 100th time the bowl has been played and it will be live on TV on ESPN and streaming online from the WatchESPN website starting at 5:00 pm.

Stanford is back in the game for the second year in a row and they are playing very well coming into the game after winning the Pac-12 title on the road against Arizona State and now they face off against a Spartans team that has one of the best defenses in the nation. The Cardinal have a trio of great offensive players with quarterback Kevin Hogan, running back Tyler Gaffney and wideout Ty Montgomery and those three will be the focus for the Hawkeyes defense on Wednesday. Stanford won the division over favorites Oregon and now the team has the chance to get another Rose Bowl win and this victory would be I'm the 100th running of the event.

Hogan comes into the matchup leading the team in passing with 2,487 yards and 20 touchdowns and he has put up some of his best career numbers and the Cardinal will be relying on their top skill players in Gaffney and Montgomery, who have combined for 30 touchdowns this season and could give the Spartans fits in the Rose Bowl matchup. The parade will kick things off for the BCS schedule and the bowl game matchup is the first top bowl game of the season and Gaffney comes in with 1,618 yards and 20 touchdowns and he has been averaging an impressive 5.3 yards per carry and Montgomery comes in with 58 catches on the season for nearly 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns and he is averaging over 16 yards per catch this season.

MSU comes into the game with a 12-1 record and they come into the game having gone undefeated in the Big Ten and they ended the chance at a perfect season and a national championship for the Ohio State Buckeyes and they come into the game 2-1 against the top 25 this season and now they have a chance to add another win in that column. Connor Cook comes in playing well with 20 touchdowns and 2,423 yards on the season and Jeremy Langford will be one of the main players for the Spartans on Wednesday, as he led the team in rushing with 1,338 yards this season and 17 touchdowns and he was one of the leading rushers in the Big Ten conference. Cook will be looking for Bennie Fowler to have a nice game after leading the team in receiving with 34 catches and 525 yards this season with six touchdowns and he averaged over 15 yards per catch this season as well. The Spartans come into the game with a very solid defense and senior linebacker Max Bullough will be the main focus for the Stanford offense and he will be a player that the team needs to key on.
